HTC Flyer Review

The long awaited HTC Flyer has finally arrived, but is the 7-incher any good? Engadget's got a full review, and although we haven't managed to get that much time with it, our brief hands on with the tablet saw it perform pretty solidly, and we'll have our review up asap.

If you really can't wait though, head over to Engadget for their review.

HTC Flyer To Get Honeycomb...Sometime

When the HTC Flyer was announced, they (HTC) said the tablet didn't have Honeycomb because they hadn't enough time to customize the OS with their Sense UI.
However, a recent tweet reply says that HTC are bringing the Android 3.0 update to the Flyer;

As you can see, HTC seem pretty confident in the upgrade, but a recent word from Google may say otherwise:

"Android 3.0, Honeycomb, was designed from the ground up for devices with larger screen sizes and improves on Android favorites such as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization. While we're excited to offer these new features to Android tablets, we have more work to do before we can deliver them to other device types including phones. Until then, we've decided not to release Honeycomb to open source. We're committed to providing Android as an open platform across many device types and will publish the source as soon as it's ready"

Make of that what you will, but we wont be holding our breath on an update just yet.

The Week In Tech

I Can't Believe It's Not Android
It's been a busy week in the world of tech; Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Tab II, Motorola Xoom, HP Touchpad, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to name but a few.

But what's caught my eye the most this week, was the sight of an HTC Tattoo found in a tub of butter.
You didn't read that wrong-- A HTC Tattoo, that little Android phone that was plastered over bus stops for a short period, was found in some butter. You can read the full story here (just make sure Google Translate is on, it's
Norwegian)
Now, I'm off to Waitrose to find an iPad sized tub of ice-cream...

CES 2011: Day 1

As much as we wanted to pack our things and head off to Las Vegas Nevada for CES 2011, the ultimate gadget fest, to feast our eyes on the mouth watering gadgets we can look forward to, we can't. No, instead, we're sat here in dreary England, looking in on the lucky ones who are there (not that we're bitter...).

So, hit on the links to see what you (and us!) are missing out on.
