Going Deep Into The Unknown, Star Wars 1313

When Star Wars 1313 was announced, we all thought it'd be for some kind of new CGI series or even a new comic book. But what we got instead, was Uncharted's Nathan Drake crossed with a dark, seedy underbelly of the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars 1313 introduces an integrated development approach by bringing together great artists across the Lucasfilm organization, including LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. and Skywalker Sound. A third person cinematic action adventure game, Star Wars 1313 will bring to life the Coruscant underworld, the most dangerous place in the Star Wars™ galaxy.

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.

We featured 1313 in our E3 2012 highlights (Part 1), but here's some more for your beautiful eyes.

Star Wars 1313 will feature epic action adventure gameplay including exotic weaponry and gadgets that bounty hunters depend on for survival. In addition, the game will feature a combination of agile cover-based combat, epic platforming and seamless playable cinematic game play. Players will experience awe-inspiring and action-packed cinematic sequences, constantly staying engaged through the threat, pressure and tension of this criminal underworld.

Spotlight: Why KotOR Needs To Be Brought Back

The choice is yours. Do you take the light route; helping others, using your powers to fight for the good of the people.
Or do you take the dark path; terrorising folk, bringing your almighty reign down on all who oppose you.

That's the beauty of Bio-Wares epic KotOR series, the path you choose is completely down to you, you set your story, that ultimately has the same ending, but it's the emotional journey that you encounter during the 45 hour play through that makes it so compelling.
And you know what? We want it back!

Sure, the upcoming KOTR MMORG looks excellent, but what we want, nay, what we deserve, is KotOR III.

Hell, we'd settle for some kind of anniversary edition of both I and II running on the Mass Effect engine.

Everyone had their favourite party members, everyone loved The Ebon Hawk, and the fact you could have your own Wookie was just plain awesome.

But what of the story? quite simply, the two KotOR games had such brilliant scripts, that it made your play through gripping, and there lay another bonus; you'd want to play it again, trying different tactics, picking different party members and changing your force alignment.

Not many games made me care about my character or even those in my party, but KotOR managed to do it in spades.

------------SPOILER if you havent played KotOR II------------

In KotOR II, when the Ebon Hawk crashed and my party members died, I genuinely tried to raise it using force powers, I didn't want to lose my team, my new family, those that had helped and traveled with me through this incredible journey. And once I realised they were gone, I was angry. I stormed forward, taking out everyone who got in my way; if I wasn't on the dark side before, I was now.

The minute I find both KotOR I and II, I'll be picking them up, and I'll start the journey all over again. I do hope you'll join me, and when Bio-Ware come to their senses, we'll hopefully be starting a brand new adventure.

May the force be with you.

Star Wars Droid Themed Edition Xbox 360

To coincide with the launch of Star Wars Kinect, Microsoft are putting on sale, the Droid Themed Xbox 360 which was unveiled at Comic Con earlier today.

As you can see, it's pretty fetching, sporting an R2-D2 themed console, with a C-3PO controller.

Also included in the bundle is a matching white Kinect sensor, as well as a 320GB hard drive, and both the Star Wars Kinect and Kinect Adventures games. It also has some custom console sounds -- "bee bop bee boo" anyone?
